Some BT21 characters run on energy and chaos. RJ runs on warmth. Created by Jin — BTS vocalist, beloved for his humor and cooking videos — RJ is a cream-colored alpaca who embodies a very particular kind of comfort: the kind that comes with a home-cooked meal, a soft blanket, and zero urgency. Of all the characters in the BT21 universe, RJ may be the most huggable, in every sense of the word.
Who is RJ? Jin's BT21 Character Explained
RJ is a cream alpaca with a gentle expression and rounded, fluffy proportions. Designed by Jin during the 2017 BTS x LINE Friends Creator collaboration, the character reflects Jin's nurturing side — the member who always makes sure everyone around him is fed, comfortable, and laughing. RJ is depicted in BT21 lore as warm, caring, and deeply hospitable. The alpaca form was a deliberate choice: soft, round, and with a face that reads as unambiguously kind. As a BT21 stuffed animal, RJ is one of the most popular picks for people who want something that genuinely feels comforting to hold.
What Makes the Official BT21 RJ Plush Worth Buying
The official BT21 RJ stuffed animal from LINE Friends nails two things that matter most with this character: the cream tone and the facial expression. RJ's color is a warm off-white — not beige, not pure white — and the embroidered eyes convey an openness that cheaper versions fail to replicate. The stuffing density also matters: RJ should feel substantially soft, not hollow. Official LINE Friends products maintain the fill density across all sizes.
The Baby (12 cm) is an ideal gift — small, perfectly detailed, and affordable. The Standard (22 cm) is the collector's choice: the embroidery has more room, the proportions read more clearly, and the plush makes a strong impression on a shelf. Both sizes ship from the EU at BT21 Shop.
RJ and the BT21 x McDonald's Collaboration
The BT21 x McDonald's collaboration expected in September 2026 will make BT21 characters visible to a whole new audience in Europe. If you encounter RJ through a McDonald's meal promotion, think of it as an introduction. The real RJ plush toy from LINE Friends is the version that collectors want — full embroidery, authentic cream tone, designed to last and to be displayed or cuddled properly.
