Cooky BT21 is the most recognized character in the entire BT21 lineup. Created by Jungkook of BTS during the 2017 LINE Friends collaboration, this pink bunny has sold more units, generated more fan art, and appeared in more ARMY collections than any other BT21 character. This guide covers everything — the backstory, the design, the sizes, and how to identify an authentic Cooky plush.
Who Created Cooky and Why?
During the 2017 BT21 project, each BTS member was given full creative freedom to design an original character. Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS known for his athleticism, competitive nature, and relentless drive to improve, designed Cooky as a pink bunny who refuses to be defined by cuteness alone.
The character concept came directly from Jungkook: a rabbit that trains hard, pushes limits, and never stops working. This is why Cooky's expression is not a smile — it is focused, determined, almost serious. The contrast between the soft pink exterior and the intense internal drive is the essence of the character — and, many ARMY fans would say, the essence of Jungkook himself.
Cooky's Visual Design
Cooky is immediately recognizable from any angle:
- Color: Bright, vibrant pink — a specific shade that LINE Friends controls precisely across all official products
- Expression: Neutral to serious — no smile, just focus. The eyes are small and determined.
- Form: Round body, small round ears, compact proportions that read as both cute and capable
- Details: Clean embroidery, no extraneous visual elements — Cooky is defined by simplicity and the strength of the expression
On counterfeit Cooky plush toys, the pink shade is almost always wrong — too pale, too coral, or too neon. The expression frequently loses its focused quality, becoming vaguely cheerful instead. If the Cooky plush you are looking at is smiling warmly, it is not official.
Cooky in the BT21 Universe
In the BT21 story, Cooky is one of seven alien-like beings who crash-landed on Earth and was taken in by Van, the guardian robot. Each character adapts to Earth in their own way — Cooky throws himself into physical activity and competition, training constantly to prepare for whatever challenges the universe might bring next. He is the fighter of the group, the one who never gives up.
This lore resonates with Jungkook's reputation within BTS as the most relentlessly self-improving member, which is why ARMY fans feel an unusually direct connection between the character and the person.
Official Cooky BT21 Plush Sizes
All of the following are part of the official LINE Friends catalog:
- Cooky Baby Plush (10–15 cm) — the compact daily carry. Fits anywhere, goes everywhere. Ideal for fans who want Cooky with them outside of home.
- Cooky Standard Plush (20–25 cm) — the definitive Cooky. This is the size most fans imagine, display on shelves, and gift to Jungkook fans. The Standard Cooky is the most purchased BT21 stuffed animal across all formats and characters.
- Cooky Jumbo Plush (40–60 cm) — the room-defining statement. Dense stuffing, large-scale embroidery, unmissable pink presence. A Jumbo Cooky is the centerpiece of any BT21 collection.
- Cooky Keychain (7–10 cm) — the everyday carry companion. Attaches to bags, keys, backpack zippers. Always official, always the right pink.
Why Cooky Is the Most Counterfeited BT21 Character
Cooky's popularity makes it the primary target for counterfeit manufacturers. The volume of fake Cooky BT21 plush toys on the market is higher than for any other BT21 character. Signs of a fake Cooky:
- Wrong pink shade (too pale, too warm, too saturated)
- Soft or happy expression instead of the focused neutral look
- Imprecise or asymmetric eye embroidery
- Missing LINE Friends hang tag or sewn label
- Price significantly below market rate for official products
Cooky and the BT21 x McDonald's 2026 Collaboration
As one of the two most popular BT21 characters (alongside Chimmy), Cooky is expected to be prominently featured in the BT21 x McDonald's September 2026 collaboration. This event typically triggers a search spike for official Cooky BT21 plush toys as new fans discover the character and seek the real LINE Friends version beyond the promotional items.
If you are planning to gift or purchase a Cooky plush around September 2026, ordering earlier is strongly recommended — stock of the Standard format in particular can be difficult to maintain during high-demand periods.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Cooky BT21 the same as Jungkook?
Cooky is the BT21 character designed by Jungkook, inspired by his personality and values. Cooky is not Jungkook himself, but the character carries genuine personal meaning — it is Jungkook's creative vision, made tangible.
